Introduction
Chroma Key, commonly known as green screen is the process of removing the background of one image and replacing it with another to make it seem as if the subject is in one place rather than a studio. This is often used in films where it would be too expensive to make a set. It is also commonly used in weather forecasts as production costs are lower than placing the weather man in front of a large television screen.Process
The subject is filmed against a background of a colour not similar to skin tone or anything the subject is wearing, in my case they will be filmed against the green screen. The portion of the background that is green will be replaced with the alternative background.
Challenges
One of the key challenges that I will face when creating the chroma key effect is lighting and shadows. Shadows need to be avoided as they may prevent some of the background being replaced with the new image. Clothing is another problem along with eye colour as if the are, in this case, green then the eye and clothes will also be replaced with the new image.
