I have completed a survey while trying to work out my target audience. To try and distinguish what age and gender my target audience would be I asked groups of people to fill in two different surveys. First, a survey to be completed by different age groups and secondly a survey to be filled out by the different genders.
Results:
- The result of my research was not surprising. Although the horror genre was none of the age groups favourite genre, it was highest up in the rankings among 15-25 year old voters with 17% of the age group voting for horror as their favourite genre. It became more unpopular when questioning elder generations with 0% of 65+ voting for horror.
- The horror genre was very unpopular among women with just 1% voting for horror as their favourite genre. Among men, the horror genre was much more popular. 39% claimed that it was their favourite genre.
From these results I believe that my target gender is males and that my target age group is 15-25 year old people.
