I believe that the titles in a horror film could change the film from being a good horror film to being a very immature piece of film making. Therefore I believe that it is essential for my titles to be good. I have researched titles in past horror films along with films of thriller and action genres. My favourite title sequence that I viewed was for the film 'Seven'.
The titles in this sequence are small and subtle. I believe that this is much better than the titles that take up a large proportion of the screen. I showed a number of title sequences, including this one, to a group of people in my target audience. They agreed with me with a majority choosing the smaller titles as their favourite. Some of the films that I selected had the titles in a different shot to the sequence rather than on top of the shots. The target audience tended to dislike this in comparison and I agree with this.
